1. How is AC Service Done at home?
Every year, before you start using the Air Conditioner at your Home, it is necessary to keep a check on AC internal & external issues; ignoring it can cause numerous troubles like water leakage from AC, AC not cooling, AC making noise, spoilt outdoor unit and so on. Regular AC servicing and maintenance helps in avoiding these problems. Along with this, it also improves AC’s performance and efficiency.
2. How do you clean an air conditioner filter?
AC filters for almost all categories of ACs are washable. All you need to do is –
- Pull out the filter gently (not to damage the other AC parts), and rinse it with water
- Now, with the help of a soft-bristled brush and a few drops of liquid dishwashing liquid, clean additional dust & debris
- Let the filters get dry, with the help of a Vacuum Cleaner or by keeping them under the Sun
- Once they are clean & dry, place them back into the unit
Tip: Cleaning the filters of your AC once in a month helps in reducing your electricity bill.
3. How to clean outdoor unit of your AC?

First and foremost, switch OFF your AC, and disconnect it from the main socket
- With the help of a water pipe, clean dirt on the outside unit
- Spray coil cleaner on the outside unit, and wait for 10-15 minutes to get the debris cleaned from the coils
- Give the unit, a thorough Rinse by using water hose
Tip: Cleaning AC’s outdoor unit once a year helps in extending its life; prefer doing it during Spring season.
4. How to check air conditioner cooling properly?
You can check the cooling level of your AC through a Thermometer before calling an AC Technician. All you would need to do: check the temperature difference of the air going ‘in’ and coming ‘out’ from the AC; if the difference is between 15-20 degree, it is cooling properly but if not, you need to call a Professional.
